The application also includes a disclosure notice and authorization that candidates must sign.
Where should I go to check the status of my background check?
You can view the status of your background check here. Curious about what happens next? Watch the video What to Expect from Your Background Check.
How long does the background check take?
For more information on time estimates, please visit the Checkr portal. Checkr requires your local DMV to confirm the license you provided and perform a criminal history check. While background checks typically take one day, it is not uncommon to experience longer wait times of 1-2 weeks (or 1-2 months during COVID-19) due to DMV delays. Manana is unable to expedite wait times since Checkr handles the entire process.
How do I troubleshoot issues with my background check?
When you sign in to your Manana account, you may see that your background check is In Progress or Needs Action. You can always visit your Checkr portal or contact Checkr Support to see your status and finalize your application.
How much does it cost to set up a Helper profile?
Manana does not charge any upfront Helper fees however, we do ask that Helpers pay for a background check. When you create your Helper profile, you will be prompted to complete background check through Checkr, at a cost of $35. But don’t fret! Manana will reimburse you after you’ve completed your first $150 hours in bookings.
How much will I earn as a Helper?
Helpers set their own hourly rate and availability. As a Helper, you should consider you skills and qualifications as you set your hourly rate. Your earnings will also depend on your schedule, as Helpers with more time to give, may be able to book more care recipients than those with limited availability. If you need support setting your rate or availability, please contact us and we can provide guidance.
How will I accept payment from my Care Recipient?
Care Recipients pay for all services through the Manana website. Payment will be held prior to the service and then finalized and released to the Helper after the service is complete. Care Recipients are encouraged to tip through the Manana platform. If the service changed in any way at the time of service, you will have an opportunity to make this modification through Manana.
